Shola Ameobi : I Enjoyed Working with Alan Pardew

Shola Ameobi
“I'm very excited to be here, I wanted to get back in the Premier League and having worked with the manager before it's been great to come back and hopefully help us avoid the relegation battle,” he said.

“I had a couple of other clubs interested but I think my relationship with Alan [Pardew] and how much I enjoyed working with him was one of the big factor in my decision.

“He instils confidence in players and he always seems to get the best out of them, certainly he did that at Newcastle and hopefully he can do that for me and the rest of the lads here.”

Wilfried Zaha : I am happy now

Wilfried Zaha
“This is the club where I grew up and when I am here I feel more confident. I have lived in South London all my life and my family is here. After the games I go back to home and discuss the game with my dad which is great for me to be able to do.  I have a smile on my face because I am back on the pitch. I enjoy playing football, so when I am doing that I am happy. It is about people having trust in me. This gaffer has done that and I am trying to give it back and performing for the team.“

“Obviously there was a period where I thought 'What's going on here?'As a footballer it is important not to think that way and remain professional. I knew that if I got the chance I needed to take it and not dwell on the past and I am not one to do that and it was up to me to take it.”
“I am just glad we managed to get back into the game really, and every time we broke forward we looked like we were going to score.“

“I managed to get into space and run at them too. We gave sloppy goals away at the beginning but we can’t keep doing this every game.“
“The opposition will just get better in the Premier League and they will punish us more. We’re obviously scoring goals but we went through a period where we couldn’t score at all.“
“Right now, if we’re going to carry on scoring goals, we need to tighten up the little things because there are going to be teams out there who will out-score us.“

Alan Pardew : An Amazing Game

Alan Pardew
Crystal Palace - Burnley : 3-2 (17/01/15)

About the Game
“What a performance from us, it is unbelievable to come back like that in any Premier League match, particularly away from home. An amazing game, we showed our quality with our offensive players who helped to change the match and we were worth the victory. "

"I was disappointed in the first two goals, I could see from where I was standing that the ball wasn't in the quadrant for the corner that led to their first one but nevertheless we should have done better with it."

"The second goal was a foul and I think the referee and linesman were distracted by the fact was the ball in or out and didn't see the player just put our defender on the ground."

"Having said that we had to show tremendous qualities, not just fighting spirit and resilience - which I know is in the group, but flair and bravery to pass the ball which we did against a Burnley team who I thought were on their mettle."

About Dwight Gayle
"He just seems a very uncomplicated player, he is very straightforward in his work; he is quick, good in the air, good attitude, all he needs is experience and to grow in his own confidence.”

About Jason Puncheon
"When I had Jason Puncheon at Southampton he wasn't the player he is today. Because he has played in the Premier League he has that inner confidence he can play at this level and that is what players like Dwight Gayle need to find.
“I thought Jason was the best player on the pitch today by a country mile, he had time to put his foot on the ball, got a great goal and set up the third.”

About Yaya Sanogo
“He showed some real technical ability out there today, you need those good little touches to set play your way and he did that very well. I thought he should have scored when Wilf Zaha put a cross over late in the first half but other than that he put in a really good first performance for the club.”

Yaya Sanogo on Loan to Crystal Palace

alan pardew
 Alan Pardew :
“He’s a young player with tremendous promise, somebody that I have tracked personally and this club has too so that fitted well.“

“We have given him an opportunity, he needs to play more games and I think he’s ready for that and he proved that at Arsenal. It’s tough to get in their team but he’s closer to the starting action with us.”
