“It was a horrible performance first half - way off our standard,”
“We made mistakes continuously against a team like Chelsea, who punished us heavily. And credit to them, their performance was devastating to take advantage of our mistakes.“
“They were 4-0 up at half-time, then it was always going to be an uphill battle.“
“We had to be perfect to stand a chance, and we were far from perfect. Everything we worked on, we didn’t do. It’s disappointing.“
“We were marginally better in the second half, without any real chances. But the first half was the worst of our season. We didn’t do ourselves justice at all.“
“But we’ve shown in the past we can react straight away. We have very good players. The big picture this season is that we’ve done very well, which is what makes performances like today harder to watch. We will learn from this.”
About Fans
“I want to say a big thanks to the fans; they were magnificent. They kept going and supported the team to the very end.“
“I’m just disappointed for them that we couldn’t give them the performance that we were all looking forward to. The performance is my responsibility, and I can only say sorry for that.”

Garry Monk : About Gomis & Bony Comparison
"I've got 100% faith in Bafe and I think you saw from his performance, he was pushing the team and trying to get his goals," said Monk.
"Gomis offered more mobility and more movement than Bony" he added.
"Bony uses his strength to his advantage and is a different type of striker, and I think the more game time for Bafe he gets, the more used the team will get when we're playing him."
"The players around him are trying to find his runs and supply from there. I thought he deserved that goal and, like I said, he's a top striker," added Monk.
Team-mate Neil Taylor about Gomis
"We're really happy for him. He's scored good goals at Tranmere and he looked sharp there so he's coming into form," said Taylor.
"We're hoping he gets confidence from this because we're going to need him. He's definitely a good player and hopefully people get to see him now."
"Wilf's [Bony] a difficult act to follow, but when he moves on he's earned it and that shows that if you do well here you can get that move and Bafe will probably look at that the same way."
